Who provides my prenatal care? |

Your prenatal care, as well as your birth and postpartum care, will be provided by the midwives of Birthwise Midwifery Service. Birthwise Midwifery Service was founded by Heidi Fillmore-Patrick, CPM, NHCM 20 years ago, and has been providing out-of-hospital midwifery care since then. Heidi is joined by two other midwives, AnnMarie RianWanzeck, CPM and Robin Doolittle, CPM. You will get to know all of the midwives during your care, and will have most of your visits with your primary midwife. This midwife will be caring for you during your labor and birth, with one of the other two midwives in attendance and an assistant as well. Your prenatal visits are on the same schedule as other pregnancy-care providers, although visits are typically 45-60 minutes in length. We see you every month until you are 28-weeks pregnant, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly until the birth. We work under the concept of informed choice; every test and treatment that is standard in physician care is available to you, though not required. We give you information, risks and benefits, and let you choose what is right for you and your family.
