Birthwise Midwifery School is a three-year direct-entry midwifery education program, which is located in southwestern Maine. The school was founded in 1994 and has been accredited by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC.org) since 1999. Our students are eligible to apply for Federal Student Aid (Stafford Loans and Pell Grants). English-speaking foreign students are welcome to apply. We love prospective students to come visit the school and sit in on classes for a day to help them determine whether Birthwise is the right program for them. We are excited to announce that our new Apprenticeship Program has begun its first class of students! This is a new arrangement of our program for those who cannot relocate to Bridgton, Maine. The next enrollment date for this program is July 2010 with early applications due in November, 2009. For more information click here.
